Thank You!

Thank you for coming to Los Gatos Hacks 2026. 115 students joined us this year. We hope you had a fun time. Prize winners have been contacted. We can't wait to see you next year!

About

Los Gatos Hacks is a one-day hackathon for middle and high school students, held on September 5th. You show up with an idea, or with nothing at all, and leave that night having built something that works. Teams are up to three people. If you have never written a line of code, there are workshops in the morning and mentors on the floor all day. If you have shipped before, bring something ambitious. Food, hardware and prizes are covered by our sponsors, so it costs you nothing to come.

Dinner with leaders in tech, Paid Internship Opportunities and $1,000+ of Prizes

Prizes

Every team demos in the evening. The top five take home prizes, and everyone who finishes gets something for showing up. Past winners have walked away with hardware, software credits and paid internship interviews.

Code

Engineers from Google, Microsoft and Nvidia sit in the room with you. They run short workshops, answer questions while you are stuck, and judge at the end of the day. Most of them stay far later than we ask them to.

Activities

Nobody codes for fourteen hours straight. There is a Smash Bros. bracket, a Clash Royale ladder, cup stacking at 5pm, and a scavenger hunt right after. Cup stacking started as a joke in 2023 and we have run it every year since.
